The "System" Has You. It's Not Your Fault. Three Reasons Why.

I had a consultation with a wonderful man last week who, sadly, is nearing kidney failure.

As I got to know his story, it became clear why he was not well.

  1. He has multiple root canals

  2. He worked in welding for 20 years.

  3. He is on multiple (toxic) medications

  4. He has never done a parasite cleanse.

  5. He has emotional trauma from living in a war zone.

That is a HUGE amount of body burden.

On the flip side, his diet is great. He has a loving, supportive family willing to do anything for him, and collectively they have a strong awareness of, and access to, many of the tools we use—chlorine dioxide, herbs, DMSO, clay, turpentine, etc., but…there is a confidence gap here.

Hold that thought.

When I highlighted the significance of his heavy metal exposure, and the tax that is on his body/kidneys, he said he wanted to go to his doctor to test his metal levels.

That’s not an illogical step, but therein is what often ends up being one of the biggest obstacles to healing—the perceived need for medical professionals to weigh in, and more specifically, the perceived need for a lab test.

I told him I didn’t need a test to confirm why he was sick. I KNOW why. It’s obvious.

Yet, the response I mentioned above highlights the power of words like “conventional”, “primary” and “provider” when it comes to the medical world’s use of them. The FIRST thing we are supposed to do is go to, and defer to, the medical world. They will "provide" the answers.

We’ve been trained to believe we need their blessing, or their permission slip, to do, or consider, anything “alternative.”

I can’t blame the man for feeling that way. I’m not anti-doctor, but I am anti-wasting time, and I’m anti-wasteful spending.

DO YOU SEE THE MENTAL/EMOTIONAL TRAP?

Look at the five root causes I mentioned above. Any one of them could be a reason someone is not well, yet his doctors (predictably) didn’t ask him about anything on that list. Furthermore, #3 on the list IS the medical approach…and it’s only making him worse.

Asking the medical world about 1, 2, 4, or 5 is like asking a car mechanic to fix your HVAC. That’s not what a car mechanic does. Said differently, the medical world can’t treat a problem it won’t acknowledge.

Furthermore, asking a medical doctor what can be done instead of #3 is likely to get a confused look or a snide comment.

I took the time to write this because this is a story I see so often

A short version of a sentiment he was expressing goes like this… “I know there are other ways to approach my health, but I’m not an expert. I’m anxious, and I don’t have enough confidence (either in myself or a non-medical approach) to not go the medical route.

LET'S DECONSTRUCT THE ABOVE FEARS

  1. I’m not an “expert.” The system wants you to believe health is complicated. It’s not. It’s elegantly simple. What’s complicated is figuring out how to poison you (medicate you) without killing you, while also attempting to offer enough perceivable benefit (temporary abatement of symptoms) that you’ll come back for another round of tests, meds, and procedures.

  2. I’m anxious. Exactly. That is a normal human response to ambiguity, and the system uses our anxiousness to its advantage. When you’re nervous, you are very open to suggestions, even if what is suggested (poison, cut, burn) makes no logical sense. We subconsciously say, “I’m scared. I don’t want to make the ‘wrong’ decision, so I’ll trust the ‘expert’.” In so doing, we disempower ourselves and hand over our autonomy.

  3. I lack confidence – The relatable sentiment “I don’t know if I have what it takes to learn/do this on my own” predictably sends us back to blind trust in “experts.” Furthermore, once monopolists officially took over healthcare in 1910, timeless remedies became “unscientific” and we were slowly trained to believe nature’s tools aren’t powerful enough to facilitate healing.

It’s a lie, and a trap.

Friends, the medical profession is not coming to save us from chronic conditions. That's not their business model.

I get it, considering cutting the cord and taking total ownership of your health is not an easy emotional bridge to cross, nor is it a moral failing to go seek opinions when you need help with your health—quite the contrary!

But…

  1. Do you see where the medical “expert” path is leading?

  2. How long are you willing to accept the cognitive dissonance of deferring to a system that doesn’t study healing?

  3. What would have to be true for you (i.e. what would give you the confidence) to bet on your body and run with other options?

I don’t pretend to know how to answer the above questions for every person, but I can suggest four things to get your gears turning—look for education, testimonials, guidance, and support

You don’t get that with a lab test or 15 minutes of half listening followed by a prescription.

BACK TO THE MAN NEARING KIDNEY FAILURE

In my opinion, the man I met already has what he needs to give him the best shot at healing (the will, the support, and access to nature’s remedies) but his paradigm and confidence are the missing pieces.

Furthermore, time is of the essence. Getting his heavy metals tested and collecting opinions inside the medical echo chamber = falling further behind.

Some people can see and break the medical spell, some can’t.

Here’s my encouragement to you: Both the medical route and the “alternative” route will stretch the bounds of your comfort zone. The former is the path of managed decline and slowly losing who you are. The latter is the only path to true healing, and who you become in the process is its own reward.

One path will eventually break you. The other path, if started early enough, has the chance to grow you into someone amazing you never would have become.

Neither path is easy, but take heart, have courage, and choose wisely.

Your health and future do depend on it.

Whatever you do…

  • Defy fear.

  • Become a humble student.

  • Calibrate your expectations.

  • Plug into like-minded community.

The medical world won’t offer you those things, but we can

And if you’re a Christian, I remind you of 2 Timothy 1:7 – “You have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and a sound mind.”

Act accordingly.
